Archipelago de las Guatecas, Patagonia

"While researching this trip I found something that you don't often find these days. A whole region with pretty much no information. And it's not a small region. The archipelago de las Guatecas is a huge area, with...I have no idea. On a map it looks like it could be a dream. Or maybe a nightmare. Who knows? So we've got to go! One thing is for sure- this ain't the bloodly BVI's! In my experience of sailing the Earth for 15 years, going where no one else does is always rewarding. We could find a perfect left that no one ever has. An anchorage filled with mussels and a Blue Whale lazing away the summer. Penguins might come by for a feed. Who knows? If the impossible happens and the archipelago runs of out mystery we'll head up the coast to Parque Pumalin and visit our friends at Patagonia, who have created the largest land trust on Earth. Regardless of how this one goes down, it will be one insane adventure."
We have one cabin available on this trip to members or non-members. Please inquire if you are interested in joining and we will send the details.
GETTING THERE: LAN and SKY Airways both service Puerto Montt from Santiago and Punta Arenas. Regular buses service Castro and Puerto Cisnes.
MORE INFORMATION regarding Puerto Cisnes: An island sanctuary with hot springs and trails, Parque Nacional Isla Magdalena makes an engaging trip for adventurers but there is little infrastructure from Conaf and travel options are expensive. Information on the area can be found at La Municipalidad de Cisnes (www.cisnes.org).
