| Goals, Hopes, Fantasies, Fears: | I hate crowds. I am hoping to explore places of the world I would otherwise not got to see. I hope to improve my kiteboarding in open space without the fear and crush of people. I love just being outside and in or on the water. I also hope to meet some fantastic people who enjoy the same things that I do. |
| Three words that best describe me: | Adventurous, Ambitious, Absurd. |
| One Achievement I am most proud of: | Climbing Kilimanjaro. I underestimated the enormity of it. Even though I had run a marathon a few months before it truly pushed my body to the limits. After four days trekking we reached the base camp. Later the evening we rose at midnight and through the pitch black dark ascended a 43 degree slope for 6 hours one foot in front of another. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. And the most rewarding when I reached the summit and watched sun rise from above the clouds. |
| Activities I'm psyched about on The Best Odyssey: | I am completely obsessed with Kiteboarding at the moment. I hope it wears off but I am doubting it. I love Scuba diving. I am keen to try surfing in warmer waters. I am excited about trying any new activities. |
| Beatles or Stones? | Stones |
| Best advice I've ever received: | It's very specific to work but can be extrapolated to life. My phone doesnt stop for 24 hours a day. My boss told me once....If someone calls you in the middle of the night about something completely stupid, don't get angry. If you get angry, the only person who will lose sleep is you. And anger clouds your judgement and thats when you make mistakes. |

| Goals, hopes, fears and fantasies: | I've been wanting to sail around the world since I read Robin Lee Graham's book when I was 17. This may be my only chance having too many obligations and commitments to be able to. | Goals, hopes, fantasies and fears: |
I will be spending two and a half months (at least) aboard
each year, hopefully as extended trips. I have learned that it is NOW
time to do the things I have always dreamed about ...... one day I'll
do ........ . When this 5 year adventure kicks off I will be 45, when
it finishes I'll be 50. If that last number scares any of you reading
this, then perhaps you should seriously consider buying more shares. So I'm looking forward to spending time with like minded people and leaving my conventional life behind. I'm in for the off shore passages, the quiet times at anchor, pushing my aching body to the limit kiting places that were never meant to be kited. I want to eat fish and Gav's granola everyday. And Jody's rhubarb crumble ....... I also know that this trip will reshape the rest of my life when not aboard. I have had to free myself up from certain routine constraints, and this will allow me to travel more, be more healthy, work much less but enjoy it more. |

Goals: to challenge myself, learn more about sailing and other activities, see incredible new sights. Fantasy - kiteboarding in the most beautiful place on earth with perfect wind & water & with a great bunch of people. Fears: bad weather; evil sea creatures; too-stormy seas; modern-day pirates (?). |
